Support our pupils in their participation in learning and improved wellbeing.

The successful candidate for this role will be:

  • Relentlessly bothered.
  • Tenacious.
  • A Team player.
  • Professionally curious.

Queen Emma's Primary School is a Good school that is continues to improve. There is a strong culture of safeguarding. The Queen Emma’s Way sets out our vision to be one of the country’s best-performing schools both academically, socially, and emotionally. Community is at the heart of our ethos; we see our role as one that supports both pupils and their families. As with The MILL Academy, we can be likened to Indiana Jones – an academic and an adventurer. Our decisions are informed by research, but compassion, understanding, and a strong moral compass are the foundation stones of our culture. As a school, we do what we believe is right, not what convention states.

Our passion for learning and understanding is matched by our openness to new ideas and ways of working. We want to be a beacon of educational excellence, leading local and national initiatives and actively sharing our experiences with others.

We see the whole person, not just the pupil; whilst academic success is important, it can only happen when the child is emotionally and physically ready to learn. We encourage children to discover who they are and celebrate their individuality. We actively fight against the legacy system that seeks to ‘pigeonhole’ children. We do this by enabling children to mix with those whose company they enjoy, to play the games they enjoy at playtimes, and to learn with those who inspire and motivate them.

We place high importance on teaching standards to deliver high-quality learning experiences. We believe children deserve nothing less than the best opportunity to thrive and are committed to ensuring they receive that.

As part of the MILL Academy, we are able to offer you a strong commitment to your continuous professional development throughout coaching, mentoring and other support systems.  You will join a team of enthusiastic and committed staff, families and Local Committee Volunteers on our journey to becoming an outstanding school.

Here we think deeply about how we can have the biggest impact on pupils. In a world where the algorithms of life give us more of the same, we believe education has the role to give children something different. We continually ask ourselves the following five questions;

  • Are we securing equity?
  • Is our leadership driving school improvement?
  • Is our curriculum irresistible?
  • Are we research informed?
  • Are we deploying resources effectively?

Queen Emma’s Primary School is committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The appointment will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance and other relevant pre-employment checks.
